An ORTHOTIST is a specialty within the medical field concerned with the design, manufacture and application of Orthosis. An orthotic is an orthopedic device that supports or corrects the function of a limb or the torso. Orthosis are typically used to assist weak or deformed body part. The minimum educational requirement to become an Orthotist is a four and half year degree registered with rehabilitation council of India from recognized university.

An Orthotic evaluation includes:
* determine impairments
* review of functional limitations and disabilities
* understand the health related conditions
* measuring the patient
* determine the risk assessment
* movement analysis

Intervention by a Orthotist includes:
* Casting the affected body part
* Constructing the best suited device for your needs
* Evaluated the fit and comfort of the device
* Long term follow-up and care for your orthotic device

The orthotic device will be made on site at Jaya Rehab during your stay. The complete fabrication and necessary adjustments will be completed during your inpatient or outpatient treatment. The Orthotist works in a team approach with the on-site Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist to ensure the patient receives the best orthotic care.
